Company background

Our History
Homematch was established by Lynda, Jon & Tom in August 2005.

Lynda Martin (Managing Director)
Started her working life as an assistant to the finance director in one of Nottingham’s largest skip hire and disposal companies. She then moved to a small flooring contracting company which she helped develop into probably the largest in the Midlands with a £5.5 million turn over. Employed as Company Secretary/Accountant, in the early stages she combined these jobs with developing the computer and telephone network, human resources and health and safety until the company grew large enough to employ others in the management team. In the meantime she brought up two boys and studied and passed half her CIMA accountancy exams. She has over 15 years experience of property management. She also administers the company SAS (Small Self Administered Pension Fund – Property portfolio) along side this, more recently managing property development. After a short sabbatical, mixing in the music industry and then a spell in reviving a computer company, she achieved her ambition to become her own boss when she became the Managing Director responsible for the administration, financial control and compliance of this company.

Jonathan Martin (Techincal Director)
After studying and graduating with a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham, he moved into the IT sector. He has six years experience of IT, working in database development and administration, business intelligence, software development and technical support. It is his responsibility to ensure our internal IT Systems and databases operate efficiently to maintain a high level of service to our clients. http://www.bigspring.co.uk

Tom Butcher (NOW RETIRED - CONSULTATION ONLY)
After Studying Building Construction and initially training as a Health and Housing Inspector, Tom Butcher served as a Police Officer for 25 years before retiring and training to become a Business and Financial Advisor which over the last 20 years he has added property development and business directorships to his portfolio. When added to his 8 years service as a councillor including serving on local planning committees, this gives him a unique knowledge of the Nottingham Area, its property market, business and investment opportunities. He taught law and then taught financial services at City Bank, Confederation Life and Sun Life of Canada.

We provide a “one stop shop”. An all service provider to both the clients and service providers in the property industry and hopefully bring about the American System of Multi listing which gives a far better level of service to clients wanting to buy, sell and rent property. Jon also plays a mean guitar in the heavy metal band, “Illuminatus”
