Gas Safe Register

Goodbye CORGI - Hello Gas Safe Register
From April 2009 landlords and homeowners should only use engineers registered with the new Gas Safe Register to do their gas safety work. The CORGI gas registration scheme has been replaced by Gas Safe Register, which is now the only official gas safety body, authorised by Government.
Landlords need to be aware that:
- Only work gas safety undertaken by a Gas Safe Registered engineer will fulfill a landlords statutory gas safety responsibilities;
- All existing gas safety records will be valid until their expiry date (even if that is after April 1st 2009); and
- Landlords can visit the Gas Safe Register site to find a registered gas engineer or check that a gas engineer is registered with the new official scheme.
This change does not affect landlords' gas safe responsibilities under law.
All HOMEMATCH sub-contract engineers are registered.
